Elect Lisa Bender for Atlantic County Clerk

serving atlantic county as clerk

the county clerk has many election responsibilities like ballot design And mailing, informing citizens of where and when to vote and reporting results

These responsibilities include certifying candidates, printing ballots, and mailing mail-in and sample ballots. These duties are at the heart of Democracy. Without candidates running for office, we would have no reason to vote! Candidates require support from the community by way of petitions to officially become certified candidates. In addition to turning in an appropriate amount of signatures on their petitions, candidates must take an oath and sign a certificate of acceptance. The County Clerk ensures all of this is accurately done.

AND, without ensuring accurate ballots with all the candidates listed, with proper election dates, and mail voters having their ballots in hand in a timely manner according to state law, our elections are at risk. To ensure Free and Fair Elections, vote Bender for County Clerk in the primary election (uncontested) by June 2nd and MOST IMPORTANTLY by the General Election on November 3, 2026! You can Vote by Mail, Vote during Early Voting period, or Vote on Election Day.

voting by mail

Voting by mail is a standard and secure way to vote in the United States. In the 2024 Presidential Election, one third of votes cast were by mail, and the majority of those were by voters over 65 years old. Why would anyone—like the Republican Party—want to eliminate a voting option that is valid, safe, convenient, and includes voter ID check via signature just like at the polls? When signatures do not match, the voter is notified by way of a cure letter that allows them to satisfy the requirements to prove their identity and verify they are a registered voter in the district in which they cast their mail-in ballot.

If voters who are signed up to receive vote by mail ballots and either don’t receive their ballot, lose it, or just choose to vote either early or on Election Day at the polls, they will be notified that due to receiving a vote by mail ballot, they can only vote provisionally. So, the poll worker would see by their name that they received a mail-in ballot and therefore they are prevented from voting on machine. The provisional ballot will only be counted a week after Election Day when all of the mail-in ballots have been processed to make sure that no voters were able to vote by mail and provisional ballot. There are protections in place that I have faith in and I will ensure the ability to vote by mail into the future in Atlantic County.

Voting by mail is used by citizens who care enough to ensure they have a say in their democracy by making sure they have their ballot in hand and can drop it in a drop box, mail box, or return to the County Board of Elections at their convenience.

I will protect the State of New Jersey’s safe and secure election procedures to preserve election integrity without causing unnecessary and exceptional trouble for voters continuing our free and fair elections into the future without National interference.

You can trust that I will uphold Atlantic County’s and New Jersey’s high standards without falling victim to pressure from the administration that is trying to silence voters with voter suppression tactics like the SAVE America Act.

County Clerks are Elected to Five-Year Terms

Our country is facing constant attacks on voting rights from the very top of our federal government. And since Republicans at all levels of government have shown that they give into the demands of the party, election integrity cannot be trusted to a Republican who has made it clear where his allegiances lie.

Threats to nationalize elections are real. Even though they are unconstitutional, if you’ve read the news in the past year, you know that our current administration continuously pursued unconstitutional actions.

As Clerk, I will stand firmly with the State of New Jersey and lead Atlantic County in doing what is right to maintain control of elections at the state level, run by the County Clerk and County Board of Elections. We will work together with the Superintendent of Elections to ensure proper voter registration too. This is critical moving forward, especially since unreasonable and unnecessary registration and voter ID requirements are being pushed without reason. Atlantic County deserves to have confidence in elections over the next five years and beyond by having a Democrat, dedicated to voters’ rights and election integrity serving as County Clerk.

The 2026 Election for Atlantic County Clerk is the most important clerk race in Recent history. protection of elections and voters’ rights are on the ballot!

We need a champion of voter access—not one in the party of voter suppression—in this office!
