It’s All About Community!
Lisa Bender is a Jersey Girl at heart, raised as a snowbird who longed for the Jersey shore during the school year. Lisa became a full-time NJ resident in 2002 when she moved to serve Atlantic County as an AmeriCorps Watershed Ambassador through the NJ Dept. of Environmental Protection.
That volunteering was only the beginning of her service to the county. Lisa was hired at Atlantic County Utilities Authority (ACUA) after her term of service and served as County Recycling Coordinator. She initiated new recycling programs for schools and businesses and led a marketing campaign to make recycling simpler.
She also led a water conservation grant where she went into the community and educated the public. Her work for City of Ocean City was similar, though not as long lasting because she became a busy mom and began a career as a real estate sales associate.
Real estate has been a great career for Lisa, and will assist her with her role as recorder of property ownership. Lisa also has a consulting business focusing on sustainability consulting and marketing which go hand in hand.
