The County Clerk’s Roles in Elections
The County Clerk is the recorder and publisher of all aspects of elections within Atlantic County.
Important timelines like deadlines for candidates to file petitions to get on the ballot, election dates with explanation of when polls are open and when mail-in ballots must be requested and returned are the responsibility of the County Clerk.
Additionally, those candidates file the petition signatures with certifications and oaths and the County Clerk is responsible for certifying those candidates and ensuring they are on the ballot.
The County Clerk selects the ballot positions for the candidates.
All Mail-In Ballot Applications come through the County Clerk’s Office. The Clerk is responsible for ballot design, printing, and mailing. I will make sure this is done with 100% Accuracy and within time guidelines. All mail-in ballots should be mailed well before election date. Additionally, Bender for County Clerk will ensure that the proper election dates are printed on the mail ballot inserts so there is no chance votes won’t be counted!
The County Clerk publishes locations of drop boxes and early voting time periods.
The County Clerk works with the County Board of Elections to publish vote counts during elections and maintains those records over time.
Bender for County Clerk will make working with the election office simple for candidates and leaders of both parties.
